Important notes:
1. Double wages will be paid to all the employees for having worked on notified holidays and in the alternative for giving a compensatory off in lieu of having worked on a notified holiday.
2. Double wages = (Basic Pay + Dearness Pay) × (No. of days worked in holidays / Total No. of days in month)
3. Not admissible for weekly off days - they are entitled for only substitute holiday.
4. Admissible to Meter readers and also employees on shift work.
5. Not admissible to Gazetted Officers.
6. Substitute holiday cannot be enforced - left to employee's option.
